Building Integrated Photovoltaics
For several years the buzz words within the solar PV industry have been Building Integrated Photovoltaics, BIPV.
The solar industry has strived to find a solution of how to incorporate products into the very fabric and weather cladding of a building and has been successful in creating attractive solar cells which sit flush with many brands of roof tile.
These products transform solar PV from being a bolted on afterthought to being an integral part of the building.
Solar Energy Alliance has worked with large building contractors, such as Jelsons to provide BIPV for homes in the UK.
These BIPV projects have paved the way for the next generation of building integrated products. Roofing integrated solar cells are now compatible with a much larger range of standard tiles and quicker to install.
The latest product in the BIPV range is the SunPower 52W Module.
These solar panels are compatible with many major brands of roof tile, such as: Lagan, Marley, Redland, Russell, Sandtoft, Scott and Quinn tiles.
