25-year linear Power Output warranty
REC offers an industry-leading warranty for the performance of solar panels. This guarantees higher, linear power output performance over a 25 year period and the promise that each panel will deliver at least 97% effective output during the first year of operation. This represents an increase of 7% compared to the previously warranted 90% in the first year. The maximum degradation will be no more than 0.7% each year, reaching a guaranteed minimum performance level of 80.2% by the end of the 25th year.

Proof Of Performance

In 2010 the REC AE - series module ranked best in an independent, international Photon Module test which is one of the benchmarks within the PV industry. Up against 39 other modules that included the world's leading brands, the test measured the amount of energy actually produced in real-life conditions compared to the module labelling. RECs consistent commitment to innovation and operational efficiency in order to produce clean, renewable solar energy that's both affordable and accessible worldwide is continuing to make them a leader in their field.

 

Two-fold Benefits of Acidic-etched Glass

The 'AE' stands for 'acidic-etched'. The REC 235AE panels use a glass etching process that improves the modules two-fold. The first benefit is that the cells have a darker, more uniform colour which many consider aesthetically more pleasing. The second improvement is a noted increase in their performance ratio by 2%. Performance is increased further by a special anti-reflective coating with Sunarc Technology which improves power output during sunrise and sunset and diffused light conditions as well as direct sunlight.

Guarantees And Payback time

The REC 235AE comes with a 63 month limited product warranty, 10 year limited warranty at 90% power output and a 25 year limited warranty at 80% power output. It also has an energy payback time of one year. Which relates to the length of time it will take for the solar panel to generate the same amount of energy that was used to create it. Research carried out by Ultrecht University and the Energy Research Centre in the Netherlands showed the energy payback time for RECs crystalline silicon-based solar modules to be lower than others they had examined. REC state that they use silicon-based solar cells for their modules because they considerably surpass competing PV solar technology in the performance delivered.

General Specifications

Apart from peak power watts of 235Wp, the REC 235AE solar panel has a module efficiency of 14.2% under standard test conditions (STC). Other specifications include a 43mm frame, 4mm glass, weight of 22 kg, 30 modules per pallet and MC3 connector.
